Bella participates in Reading with Kids!     Reading to Bella every Wednesday, first graders in Mrs. Harder's and Mrs. Brandow's classrooms receive a special visit from a huge American Mastiff, Bella and her owner Rose.  Bella, who is a great listener, enjoys hearing the first graders read to her.  Studies have shown that when a child reads to a pet, the child's reading skills improve.  After visiting with students in the first grade, Rose walks Bella upstairs to enjoy the afternoon with the CROP students for more reading fun. Bella is now a Certified Therapy Dog through Therapy Dogs International (TDI).  She goes on weekly visits to a local nursing home and is planning to begin a reading program in two first grade classes at a local elementary school. Way to go Bella!!!

Hi Sandy

First of all congratulations on your two beautiful litters this summer!  You must have been sooo busy!  It is hard to believe that Rocco was that small one year ago.  If we can get accommodations that allow dogs, we would love to try to make it to the reunion this year.  When you get a chance please send any necessary info.

Bella and Rocco are doing very well.  They really are quite the pair!  My lab died very suddenly this summer and I think Bella and Rocco have gotten alot closer since then.

Bella is still doing agility and we participated in a demo recently.  I must say I was quite pleased how well we did.  I didn't fall flat on my butt and Bella did very well.  When I get the pics I will have to send them to you.  She is my talker and loves being outside.  She is such a sweetheart and absolutely loves people.

Rocco was neutered this summer and is still in obedience classes.  He is my crier and does not like the summer heat at all.  Rocco is such a big goofball.  He enjoys playing outside but when he is ready for his nap he has to come inside to his bed.  His coat is a little bit longer than Bella's and is softer.

Sandy, I want to thank you again for our wonderful Bella.  She is just so sweet and laid back.  Never had a dog that we have to coax out of the truck, first comes her stretch then a big yawn and then down the ramp.  We finished puppy class the end of December and she was an excellent student!  Nervous and timid at the first but as we went along she settled down.  Her progress was just plain due to her.  We are set to start our next course of training next week.  We had her spayed two weeks ago and everything went well.  Our little baby weighs (as of 02/08/07) 94 lbs and is about 25 1/2 inches at her shoulder.
