Hi Sandy,

Finnigan has been doing great since our last check in with you.  He's had quite a few exciting adventures since our last note.  We had a huge snow storm that dumped 35 inches of snow on our property, and Finn LOVED it!  I'm sending some pictures of the last few months so you can see how he looks as he grows.  He's very handsome, and he is just the biggest love of a dog.

The picture of him by the swing set was 13 months old.  The picture with the Easter bunny was taken on his birthday.  The picture on the couch with my daughter was at 8 months, and the picture with his cat and the one in the snow was at 11 months.

His last weigh in he was 140lbs.  He is healthy and happy.

Many thanks as always.

Hi Sandy,

Finnigan is doing great.  He is in the next training level, and he continues to do very well on the leash.  He is learning how to greet new people more calmly, and therefore, he is getting many more pets from random people we meet while we are out and about.  He has a knack for stopping everyone in their tracks.  He really is just stunning to look at, and it is so obvious that he is loving and happy, that almost no one can walk past him without stopping to comment or play with him.

I am sending pictures from his first Halloween and Christmas, and of his new best friend - our kitten, Lily.

Hope things are well on your end.

Hi Sandy,

I hope the reunion went well.  I can't wait to see the pictures once you get them up.  We had Finn at the vet tonight for his pre-surgical testing.  He is scheduled to be neutered next Thursday.  He is doing great in all regards.  He weighed in tonight at 104lbs, and he is energetic and smart.  He continues to be a crowd pleaser when he goes out, and he loves the attention.  Right now we are working on getting him to not get so excited every time he sees someone new.  This seems like it should be a simple task, but people often have a habit of gasping and running right up to him!  He starts to full body wag now whenever people gasp.  He is almost done with his basic command puppy class, and we plan on continuing his training until he can be certified to do therapy work.

As for the large black dog in the photo, that is Keira, our Newfoundland.  She is 11 years old this year, and she is a great pillow!  Just to give you an idea of how much bigger Finn has gotten, he is now bigger than Keira.  I tried to get a picture of the two again, but she is much less thrilled about him laying on her now!  I am sending you a picture where you can see Finn's coloring.  He has quite a bit of black mixed into his fawn/apricot coat.  He's very handsome.

Hi Sandy,

Finn is doing excellent.  We tried a few times to get him swimming this past month, but he seems to think that standing on the beach trying to eat rocks is much more fun.  He is a curious and vocal dog (my girls have gotten him to sing with their recorder), and he seems to be generally happy about everything.  His sweet temperament continues to make it easy to get through all of the normal puppy behaviors with a smile.  At 5 months, he is 82lbs, and he continues grow strong and healthy.  I am attaching pictures from last month.

Hi Sandy!

My husband and I were just talking last night about how we can't believe Finn is only 4 months.  Neither of us can imagine a time when he wasn't with us.  He is healthy and handsome.  His last vet check-up, which was two weeks ago, had him at 55 lbs already.  He is doing fabulous with his training and responds to his commands excellently when their are distractions that he is already familiar with, and he does very well for a 4 month old when he is placed in a place with many new distractions.  It's hard to even fault him because he is so clearly in love with everyone and everything that people walk right up to him to play while we're training.  Everyone comments about how beautiful he is, and he was the hit of the annual pet parade that our library holds every year!

Our Havanese has finally made peace with the fact that the giant puppy is staying, and she has begun to play with him.  I'm trying to get a video of her jumping onto his back as he walks by!  I think when he finally decided to ignore her she decided that she wanted to be friends!  As for the rest of us, we simply could not love him more.  He is the most loving dog I have ever met.  It is so funny to see the qualities that he has that are mentioned as breed traits.  He really does follow us all over the house, and when he stops to wait for us he has to touch us!  He is always waiting to give kisses or snuggle, and he really does try to hide if he is corrected with too gruff of a voice!

I am attaching photos so you can see how fabulous he looks as he grows, and I will continue to update you with his progress.

Hi Sandy!

We wanted to shoot you a quick update, and I'm attaching some pictures of Finn for you.  Finn went for his 3 month checkup at the vet today, and he is doing great!  He weighed in at 41 lbs, and the vet said he looks healthy and happy.  Today's visit was long awaited by all of us because he has enough shots to go out and about with us now!  He begins his training classes next week, but he has already learned most of the basic commands.  Sometimes, because of his size and his smarts, it is easy to forget that he is still such a puppy!  I will send you pictures monthly to keep you posted on how he is doing and know that he is well loved and treasured.

We decided on the name Finnigan for the puppy!  He did great on the ride home, and he is adjusting to the house and other dogs well.  We are teaching him to use a ramp to get in and out of the house, and he is doing great with it.  He is such a big squish, and we are definitely in love.  I will keep you posted on his progress and send you pictures of how he is doing with us.

Thank you so much.
