Hi Sandy,
How is everything? I can't believe that Harley is two already!! Last vet visit put her at 113 lbs a few months ago
for her shots. She's beautifully slender and tall. We have been taking her camping with us this summer and
she does great, although she does love coming home. We were just on our longest campout - a week upstate NY - and she
was quite the hit. Everyone stops us when we are walking with her to meet her. She even was called "stunning" this week.
She's such an unbelievable mush. She will love on anyone that will let her. The leaning is so amazing.
Once you're petting her, she's leaning on you. Of course, she's knocked a couple of people off balance here and there - ok, well, a lot!!
Sometimes when I'm doing my dishes she will lean me right into the cabinets. She is so friendly, wants to be right with the other
dogs - and she's still trying to be submissive and tries to get under even the tiniest of dogs. Let me tell you, she is FAST.
She just loves the beach and she'll take off like a rocket. Of course, the getting her to come back to us is always a challenge
as she doesn't like the word "come." We are working on that and it seems that as she gets older, she's better at obeying.
The other day, I was sitting in my recliner and wouldn't you know it, Harley wanted in and she climbed right up into my lap.
She's happiest when she's with her people. She's such a joy to have around. And boy is she always around. It's like she
knows when we're getting ready to leave the house because that's when she's under foot more than usual. Constantly tripping over that dog!!
She seems to love our guinea pig, Buster. A bit jealous, I think, too. When she hears me talking to Buster downstairs
and she's upstairs - she bolts down there and puts her nose right into the cage. One of the funniest things she's done with Buster so far
is if we give Buster a carrot when he's on the floor, Harley will come right over and gently take the carrot from him. It's hilarious
to see that big head taking a little carrot from a guinea pig! She's so gentle - although she loves to push Buster around with her nose.
Talk to you again,
Desiree
