Dear Sandy and Jim,
Thanks so much for the invitation to the upcoming reunion! We (Lyra, Jonathan and Natasha) really wish we could
make it to represent the class of 2011! Alas, Lyra isn’t a fan of flying and prefers to stick closer to home
here in South Pasadena, CA. She barely tolerates car rides to the ocean and the desert, but loves exploring our
nearby canyon and hanging out with Jonathan at the office where she has a large fan base at Caltech University.
We can’t believe she’ll turn 5 this November! She’s still so puppy-like and loves scrambling around with a couple
of young puppies in the neighborhood. As you can tell from the photos, she is a total goofball getting on her
back almost every morning for a good belly scratch.
She lost her baby-mama Gaby earlier this year after reaching a ripe old age, but she bounced back quicker than
ever and hogs all of our attention and love with cuddles on the couch and “sneaking” into the bed until
someone sneezes or moves the wrong way. We only have a queen bed and she likes to take up as much room as she can!
We still haven’t figured out whether she wants a puppy or not. For now, she is loving being the boss of us.
Her demeanor is still as sweet, inquisitive and playful as when we first met her at your place in January 2012.
She’s marvelous and we’re completely taken with her.
Hope you’re all well and have a fun reunion.
Warmest Wishes,
Lyra, Jonathan and Natasha

Dear Sandy,
Happy new year to you! Hope you are all well! Over a year ago, we were lucky enough to come
and claim dear Lyra. Here she is, when she stops to pose for a moment with her gorgeous self,
weighing in at 137 pounds with more skin to grow into. She's the biggest love in the world...
she brilliantly sneaks into the bed when we're fast asleep. She sleeps in a bit before her
California trek everyday rain or hot.
We tried to hang out with her in Manhattan Beach over the weekend and she was so overly loved
and pursued that we had to take off after a couple of hours to give her a break from attention.
She's just too loved and beautiful. We think she prefers her private life with us and friends
in a quieter atmosphere where she can just be herself without exhausting attention.
Who wouldn't prefer to hang by a cafe or burger joint without everyone in your face all the time?
Such is life in SoCal; thank goodness she's an Eastside pup with fewer demands.
In the meantime, she thrives, romps, plays and loves. Thank you so much again for the privilege...
It's been a magnificent year with her!!
Warmest regards,
Natasha
