We swing into our vet about once a month or so, whenever we are coming back from the park or a play date and have him weighed.  The girls at the vet LOVE Otis.  Last time there he topped out at 192#.  Vet is keeping a close eye on weight since being neutered, but since he is 33" at the shoulder she thinks it is an acceptable weight for his frame.  She has stressed no playing that involves jumping so his joints are not stressed. Otis is just a very happy GOOFBALL!

Hello from chilly Western PA:

We were sorry to have missed the reunion last week but it was our wedding anniversary and we had plans with family.  Otis has turned out to be the greatest dog in the world!  He seldom leaves my wife's side.  When we take him out for walks he is like a celebrity in the neighborhood.  Especially with the kids who love him.  I was concerned at first but he is so gentle with them!  He just sits there and enjoys all the attention: the hugs and petting his coat.  He is truly a GENTLE GIANT!

On that note: I had him in for his monthly weighing.... he is 32" at the shoulder and 172#..... I hope we are getting close to the end!!!  I cannot believe it was only 10 months ago a carried an 18# puppy into my house!

Otivus Maximus is my best buddy!
